Phone, email or the quote form — whichever suits you. If you already have a defect report, an inspection notice or just a photo of the door, send it across and we’ll work from that rather than starting with questions.
How to reach us
PHONE
1300 910 499
Or (02) 8416 0189 — both ring the same line, so use whichever is cheaper for you. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Attach whatever you already have. A defect report or a few photos gets you a far more useful first answer than a description does.
THE FORM
Request a quote
Five short steps, and you can send photos with it. It asks the things we’d otherwise have to ring you back about, and explains any jargon as it goes.
Three ways to get an answer
A full audit
Every door inspected and recorded, standalone. You get the findings whether or not we do the remedial work.
A free inspection on one defect
If something’s been flagged and you want to know what it actually needs, we’ll come and look at that one thing at no charge.
A quote from photos or a report
Send what you’ve already got and we’ll price from it. You don’t need us on site to get a number.
Where to find us
Rear Factory, 136 Taren Point Road, Taren Point NSW 2229.
Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
It’s a workshop rather than a shopfront, so call before you come down and we’ll make sure someone’s there to meet you. Nearly everything we do happens on site in any case — if there’s a building you want looked at, the phone or the form will get you further than a visit will.
Where we work
Sydney. Most of our work is metropolitan Sydney — the inner city, the lower North Shore, the eastern suburbs and the south. Chatswood, Surry Hills, Alexandria, Glebe, Balmain, North Sydney, Manly, Bexley and the Sutherland Shire are all regular ground.
Wollongong and the Illawarra. We travel for the right job and we’re actively taking on work here.
Newcastle and the Hunter. Our newest branch. Get in touch and we’ll tell you honestly what we can cover and when.
For fire protection companies
Send us the door work
It comes back tagged, certified and right the first time, and the certificate goes out in your name. We don’t approach your client and we don’t put our name on your job.
And if you’re stuck on a door, just call. We give fire companies advice on doors fairly often, and we don’t charge for it.
For strata managers, owners and builders
Find out what actually needs doing
We’ll look at what you’ve actually got, tell you what needs doing and what doesn’t, and give you a price before you commit to anything.
Common questions
What should I send with an enquiry?
The building address, roughly how many doors, and anything you already have — a defect report, an inspection notice, a fire safety schedule, or photos of the doors. None of it is compulsory. The more of it we get, the closer our first answer is to a real one rather than a set of questions.
Do I have to use you for the repairs to get an inspection?
No. An audit is a standalone job — every door inspected and recorded, and the findings are yours whether or not we do the remedial work. If you’d rather take them to somebody else, that’s fine.
Can you quote without coming to site?
Often, yes. Send photos or a report you already have and we’ll price from them. Where something genuinely can’t be told from a photograph, we’ll say so rather than guess and revise the number later.
Can you sign off our Annual Fire Safety Statement?
Jonathan Hyde holds FPAS accreditation for Fire Safety Assessment, F049133A. Rather than take our word for it, search that number on FPA Australia’s public register — it shows the measures covered and whether the accreditation is current today.
Do you work outside Sydney?
Sydney is where the bulk of our work is. We travel to Wollongong and the Illawarra for the right job, and Newcastle and the Hunter are our newest ground. Ask, and we’ll tell you honestly what we can cover and when rather than promising a van that isn’t there.
Send us the defect report
Or the inspection notice, or just a photo of the door. We’ll tell you what it needs — and if it doesn’t need replacing, we’ll tell you that too.
